There are millions and millions of blogs in the world, why write one about Microsoft? Well, 3 main reasons drive my passion for the Seattle-based tech firm.
Microsoft is the most technically diverse tech company of the “Big 5.”
When comparing the source of income, Microsoft far and away has the most diverse revenue stream. With Office, Azure, Xbox, and Windows the company can weather the loss of one or two streams and still be a strong tech contender. In sharp contrast, look at Facebook. While Facebook is a sacred member of the FANG tech stocks, if it were to lose its leadership in the ads sector, the company would lose a whopping 97% of its revenue.
Compare Microsoft to Apple and Amazon. What would happen if Amazon were to somehow lose its Products storefront or if Apple were to lose its iPhone? This type of revenue diversity is a clear sign of a maturely run organization that has been able to hold financial diversity for the long-haul.
Microsoft has won the most ethical rewards among the big 5
Leading in technology isn’t all about IT brain power. Many companies in the past have had amazing technical offerings (Novell), but Microsoft has won the most ethical awards amongst the big 5 tech companies and continues to excel in this area. Microsoft has been rated one of the world’s most ethical companies by Ethisphere and has been an award honoree for the past 9 years.
Lastly, because I work there
We all make choices when in life. What school we attend, who we marry, and where we work. Microosft has been my work home now for almost 4 years and I have been impressed by both the outer and the inner workings of the company. So, in light of all of that, this will be the first post of the newly christened MSFTBusiness.com. I hope you enjoy the reading and please do leave me feedback.
