4 New Machine Learning Releases in May

Microsoft’s Cloud solution (Azure) has dozens of additional features and updates every month. This month, we’ll look at the Machine Learning features that have been released for May 2020. Remember that you can always access Azure Machine Learning through the Machine Learning Studio located here. I’ll have a separate article published soon with the top five ways I have learned Azure machine learning.

Want to see what’s new for Microsoft 365 this month, head on over to my article here.

With that, let’s get to the New Machine Learning features!

Azure Text Analytics v3 Now Generally Available

Text Analytics are an important part of any Cognitive Services ML tool belt. Need more info on cognitive services, check out Microsoft’s portal here. The new sentiment analysis version supports 11 different languages! This includes Asian languages (finally!) and its English improvement is 13% greater than the previous version! want to get more details question mark learn more here.

New Responsible ML innovation in Azure Machine Learning

Let’s face the music here, adopting Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in any organization can be very challenging! Microsoft teamed up with some of the brighter minds at Harvard’s Institute for Quantitative Social Science to help with this issue! Microsoft has just released a Machine Learning innovation solution and has added it to its open source toolkits! This move will empower data scientists to understand learning models better, protect people and their data, and hopefully control the end to end machine learning process. All that to say that Microsoft’s new innovation with responsible ML will help organizations adopt artificial intelligence without compromising security and control.

Azure Private Link is now available for multiple new Azure services

Azure Private Link allows virtual networks to have private connectivity inside the Azure platform as a service solution. This private link allows you to keep your data private on the Microsoft network and still integrate with your on-premises and peered networks. Alongside Azure Event Hubs, Service Buses, Backup and Event Grid solutions, Azure Private Link now supports private links for Azure Cognitive Search! Want to share your Cognitive Search solutions with other organizations but not open everything up to the world? Look no further than the Azure Private Link with Azure Cognitive Search. More information here.

New Cognitive Services capabilities are now generally available

Cognitive services are key to the Azure ML solutions. With the new Cognitive Services capabilities now released you can support better text analytics, better speech to text (a 30% improvement in transcription accuracy!), and better computer vision!  New languages include French, German, Portuguese, Italian, and Dutch! Better yet, Cognitive Services now can be deployed inside of Azure containers! This allows AI experts to containerize their solutions and supply an easily deployable and expandable Cognitive Services application!
