Teams Background Features are Here!
Microsoft Teams has been a successful hit the first half of 2020! Users have grown to as high as 70+ Million/day and Microsoft has been faithful to release multiple features every month. Now, with the newest features released, users are able to manually upload their own teams backgrounds! But, how in the world do we do that?
Well, read on.
How to add in your own backgrounds
When this feature first came out, users had to browse to a custom folder path inside of their teams app data directory. Now that the feature is fully rolled out, users only have to click the ellipses in the upper right hand corner of their teams meeting and select the “ apply background effect”. After that, simply select the add new button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen and go ahead and select your new background image!
Great background sources
Before we began, it is worth noting that backgrounds should have a resolution of 1920 x 1080. This allows for less distortion in the image and fits most screens without background distraction. Should you need to use an image resizer tool, try out Microsoft’s “Power Toy’s” Open Source solution. More info located here or a free online tool located here.
